Thailand & Cambodia 2002
I flew into Bangkok and based myself there for my five weeks in Thailand and Cambodia. I spent a few days here visiting such sites as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho.
A trip to Kanchanaburi to the west of the country followed, where we did elephant walks in the forest, visited waterfalls and stayed at a floating bamboo cabin on the river. We also visited the famous bridge over the River Kwai and the Kanchanaburi cemetery.
Next I headed east for a trip across the border to Cambodia to visit Anchor Wat and the surrounding temples. I spent three days here before heading back to Bangkok and then onto Phuket for Khao Sok national park before making my way south to the scenic beaches at Krabi.
I spent about 10 days here before heading up, via Bangkok, to Chiang Mai and the pleasant town of Pai, where I spent a few days, most of which spent convalescing after a motorbike crash. It was a perfect place to relax though!
